Obituary For Debrah Ann Cecilia (Stroeder) Boterman
Debrah Ann Cecilia (Stroeder) Boterman passed away peacefully embraced by a circle of loved ones near her side on July 30, 2021.
Debrah lived a life filled with joy and gratitude, a journey influenced by a wonderful, hard working mother, Agnes Marie (Fortney) Stroeder who had left this world in 2005 “LIFE’S WORK WELL DONE”. Debrah is survived by her two daughters, Natalie and Hilary, her sisters Barbara, Jo-Anne (Drouin), Margaret (Brown), Agnes (Tischart), Lucinda (Kiessling), Dianne (Stix), and Bernadette (Smith), and brothers Joseph, Godfrey and Nicholas. She is predeceased by brothers Dennis and Wilbert. Intimate celebrations of life will be held with close family and friends in BC and Ontario, dates to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations can be gratefully directed to CNET Society at https://cnets.ca/support-us/donations (direct link under "Share") or The Bloom Group - Cottage Hospice, a non-profit Organization where Debrah peacefully joined her many guardian angels in heaven. Should you wish to inform the family of your donation, please contact them directly at honouringdebrah@gmail.com

So sad to hear of Debrah's passing. We were neighbours for many years. She was a wonderful person and the 4th floor will not be the same without Debrah.

My soul always felt lighter after a visit with Debbie, she never missed a chance to connect a joke to a situation or an event.... We will surely resume our joyful friendship when I reach the end of my rope... My heart dropped a couple beats when I recently heard of her trip to heavens. I'm sending you both my condolences and my love Natalie and Hilary, I'm certain that your mom is looking over you, expect subtle and funny thoughts as well... Love, Normand.

Dear Natalie and Hilary. I was so sorry to read of your mother's passing in yesterday's Vancouver Sun. I have many-many fond memories of times together from 1986-1994. She was always someone I thought I would see again. Only recently, I was reminded of all the kindness and good humour she extended to me during my marital breakdown. I met your mother when John worked with my husband, Glen Minaker, at the time. I remember you two 'little sweeties' very clearly. She loved you both so very much. I hope that you find comfort in all the tiny beautiful things that are yours only as individual daughters and as sisters. I happily made a donation to CNETS. Was surprised to learn their offices are in my hometown of Cornwall Ontario. Blessings! Debra Dolan, Vancouver

Sincere condolences to all of Debrah's family. With her passing we lost a wonderful, funny, forthright, caring, kind and genuine person. I was fortunate to meet Debrah in 1981 pursuing adult education and my late husband worked with her for many years in the Airline industry. Our paths crossed again working for the same company until I retired. My heart hurts at her loss, she was one vivacious, classy hardworking lady. Say Hi to Tom. RIP Deb❤️💔

My deepest sympathies to Natalie, Hilary and the rest of the family. I worked with Debrah, but much more than that she was my very good friend. Such a warm, loving, caring and strong woman with a beautiful soul. She cared so deeply about her friends and would make not too good of a day into a good day just chatting to you for a few minutes. Her positive energy could cheer anyone up and she always made time for you no matter how busy she was. She appreciated her coworkers and when she said she had your back, she really had your back. I will always remember her walking down the hall at work in her designer suit, pixie haircut and red lipstick, such a classy lady. Debrah, I love you and miss you...until we meet again my friend xx

A kind, intuitive, connected, and endlessly observant soul who saw the best in people, and lifted them up. I will always be grateful that our paths crossed via music, and that this happenstance came at an important time. A remarkable presence that I will miss wholeheartedly.

To Natalie, Hilary and Deb's family. As I have told you before Debrah was amazing to work with, she was loved amongst her client groups and made many friends at the workplace. I feel very fortunate to have been able to continue our friendship beyond work. Message to my dear friend Debrah, I will miss our chats and your wonderful ability to tell a great story. I will miss your support, kindness and encouragement. I will miss your wonderful baking and those delicious dill pickles. You made such a difference in my life and others. I think about you often and hope you don't forget to meet me in the Paris bistro where we agreed to have that promised glass of wine. Until then.... Wendy March

My sincerest sympathies to all of Debrah's family & friends. I also worked with Debrah over many years and thoroughly enjoyed her calm, and organized way of working but combined with a wicked sense of humour and fun. Best dressed in the room always! I will so miss her and feel privileged she was a part of my life.

To Natalie, Hilary, Barbara and family - my sincere condolences. Debrah was such an incredible soul. I often thought she was an angel, temporarily gracing us on this plane with her presence, always an uplifting energy for those around her. There are people who do their jobs at work - and there are people like Debrah, who give of themselves with such strength and grace, and through that they change the lives of those who are fortunate enough to know them. "Death is a horizon, and horizon is nothing but to save the limit of our sight" - until we meet again, my dear Debrah...Dasha
