Obituary For Sylvia Frances Luther

Sylvia passed away peacefully on September 16, 2023 in Langley, BC at the age of 86.

Predeceased by her mother and father - Ida and Vincent Joseph Gulash, and her sister - Gladys Molnar.

She will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters Glenda Plecas (Steve), Heather Luther (Mark) and Wendy Clendenin (Brian) as well as her four grandchildren, Lyndsay, Noah, Tobey and Cora whom she lovingly referred to as her "precious angels”. As well she will be sadly missed by her twin sister Shirley Kramer (Jack) and many nieces and nephews.

Sylvia was born in Yorkton, SK. She trained and worked as a lab technologist and worked for 25 years at MSA hospital in Abbotsford. Sylvia was involved for many years as a Girl Guide Leader in Calgary and in Abbotsford. She was also a lifelong learner continuing her professional training. In her retired years, she was active at St Ann’s and St. James’ parishes in the CWL and the St. Vincent de Paul Society; Sylvia was always working in the service of others.

She had a special devotion to Mary and her Catholic faith was central to her life. We know that she touched the lives of many people through her love and generosity.

My sincere condolences to Sylvia's families. I was blessed to have shared a goodly part of my working life with Sylvia, lots of fun, a few tears, many 'memorable' experiences, also her dearly loved family. Thank you Sylvia! Mickey Petersen

Sylvia was a kind and generous mother, and grandmother. She loved her children and grandchildren greatly, and never failed to speak about them with love and pride. It was obvious that the family loved her in the same way. I felt blessed by knowing her, and listening to her joy in what the children, and especially the grandchildren had accomplished. The family showed their love for her in many ways. I was a recipient of Sylvia's kindness, by knowing her. With my love, Reiny.

I was sorry to learn of Sylvia's passing recently. Although I hadn't seen Sylvia for many years, I still have fond memories from those early family get togethers and the bonds that they formed. Our deepest sympathies to all of Sylvia's family and friends. Special condolences to Glenda, Heather, Wendy and their families from our family. Ward, Jen and Simone
